International Air Races (1923). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. Advertising Poster (14" X 21") Carl Walter Artwork.
Two biplanes buzz a massive aviation tower on this beautify illustrated poster by artist Carl Walter. One of the greatest air races of its kind, over 140,000 were in attendance in St. Louis to thrill at the sight of ninety-two planes from around the world competing. Of note, a special appearance was made by none other than Charles Lindbergh, who landed his plane during the main event. A partially restored poster that displays signs of use. May include light edge wear, mild creases, small tears and chips, faint smudges, or mostly unobtrusive stains. Restoration has addressed some of these issues.
This knockout graphic arts masterpiece promotes one of America's great early aviation expos while being evocative of a carefree and prosperous era. Excellent condition and has been professionally linen backed ready to showcase in your home or office. The poster's creator was obviously an inspiration for 1960s underground comic artist Robert Crumb.

NOTE:  Also included is a certificate of authenticity issued by the Missouri Historical Society.
